A modern kindergarten in the heart of Karlín

Sokolovská Branch 110 meters from the Invalidovna metro station, Prague 8 [map]

Our Sokolovská branch is located in the Futurama Business Park in Karlín. It offers excellent accessibility, a safe setting and a modern environment where learning, play, movement and children’s everyday experiences naturally come together.

With approximately 400 m² of space, the branch has three classes and plenty of room for both group activities and work in smaller groups. The interiors are bright, functional and designed around the needs of preschool children. There is space for focused learning, free play, movement, creativity and rest. The environment also encourages independence and allows teachers to adapt learning naturally to the individual needs of each child.

The branch has its own garden, which children can reach safely without crossing a road. We continue to develop it as a place for movement, environmental education and hands on exploration of nature. Each class has its own large planter, which the children look after throughout the year. They plant, observe how things grow and learn about natural processes through their own experience. The garden also provides space for gardening, sensory exploration, free play and a sandpit.

International Environment

Sokolovská is a branch where Czech preschool education is closely connected with an international environment. We build on the Czech educational framework and enrich it with modern educational approaches, thematic learning and learning through direct experience. We encourage children to become independent and responsible, communicate openly, think creatively, cooperate with others and develop healthy self confidence.

Both Czech and English are a natural part of every day. Czech and English speaking teachers work together in the classroom, allowing children to experience both languages through learning, play, shared activities and ordinary everyday situations. English is therefore not a separate lesson, but a natural part of the environment in which children grow, learn and communicate.

Our educational programme is complemented by music and art education, ECO Art, gymnastics, karate, Jolly Phonics and speech and language support. During the year, children also take part in intensive sports courses such as skiing, ice skating and cycling. We do not see these activities simply as extras, but as further opportunities to develop movement, creativity, language, confidence and new skills.

Older children regularly go on trips and visit exhibitions, cultural programmes and other events. They learn how to navigate an everyday urban environment, use public transport and discover the world beyond preschool. What we explore and learn about together in the classroom can therefore be seen, experienced and understood in real life contexts.

Cooperation with parents is equally important to us. We continuously monitor children’s development, assess their individual needs and regularly share specific feedback with parents. Open communication between the family and the school allows us to support each child where they currently need it and to follow their progress together.

Sokolovská is an environment for children who are ready to actively explore the world. We give them space to develop their abilities, become increasingly independent, learn how to be part of a community and gradually prepare for the next stage of their education, whether they continue in a Czech or international educational environment.

Fresh and quality catering

At Malvína, we believe that a quality diet is an important part of a child’s happy day. Lunches and snacks are provided for us by a verified supplier, Ekolandia, with whom we share an emphasis on freshness, variety, and a gentle approach to children’s catering.

Meals are prepared from high-quality primary ingredients, without unnecessary semi-finished products, substitutes, or genetically modified ingredients. The menu includes plenty of vegetables, fresh herbs, and a diverse range of ingredients such as buckwheat, millet, bulgur, or other nutritionally valuable side dishes.

We pay great attention to ensuring that the food is not only healthy for children but also tasty and naturally varied. The menu includes homemade spreads, fresh snacks, and baked treats prepared with children’s needs in mind.

For the youngest children, adjusting the food consistency according to the child’s age and abilities is a matter of course. Similarly, based on individual agreement and relevant reasons, we can accommodate dietary restrictions or special dietary requirements.

A hydration regime is available to children throughout the day. They have a choice of water and unsweetened tea.
