A Day at Malvína
Every day at Malvína has its own clear rhythm, which gives children a sense of security, certainty, and natural order. At the same time, it is diverse enough for children to explore, create, move, learn, rest, and enjoy time with friends.
We always adapt the daily program to the age and needs of individual classes. We work differently with the youngest children compared to preschoolers, but always with an emphasis on an individual approach, quality education, kind care, and the joy of each day.
08:00 – 09:00
Morning arrival, free play, and individual development
The morning is a time for a calm arrival, greetings, and gradually tuning in to the new day. Children choose activities according to their interest, engaging in free play or individual activities prepared by the teachers.
It is precisely in this part of the day that space opens up for more targeted individual work. Children develop fine and gross motor skills, graphomotor skills, sensory perception, speech, vocabulary, memory, logical thinking, and social skills.
The morning block can also include individual speech therapy care or work with children who have an individual educational plan or need specific support. Thus, mornings at Malvína are not just “waiting for the program” but an important space for independence, creation, discovery, and gentle guidance of the child.
09:00 – 09:30
Morning circle, movement, and vocal preparation
After the morning arrival, the children gather together in a circle. We welcome the new day, talk, share experiences, work with group rules, and strengthen the sense of togetherness.
The block includes physical activities, breathing, vocal, and speech therapy warm-ups, rhythmization, rhymes, songs, and activities supporting proper expression, concentration, and body work. Children learn to listen, wait for their turn, express a thought, and perceive others.
09:30 – 10:00
Morning snack and hygiene
The morning snack is a time for recharging energy as well as everyday learning. We guide children toward dining culture, independence, hygienic habits, and consideration for others.
They learn to prepare for food, wash their hands, sit quietly at the table, ask for help, say thank you, and gradually manage daily situations with greater confidence.
10:00 – 10:30
Educational activity and preschool preparation
The morning educational block is dedicated to targeted work according to the age, level, and needs of the children. Activities follow the educational program, the theme of the week, and the current goals of individual classes.
Children work with stories, pictures, materials, movement, music, creation, language, and practical tasks. We develop pre-mathematical and pre-reading skills, speech, memory, attention, logical thinking, graphomotor skills, creativity, cooperation, and the ability to complete a task.
For younger children, education takes place primarily through play and experiential learning, while for older children, we gradually add more structured tasks and preparation for the school environment.
10:30 – 12:30
Outdoor time, movement, and discovering the world
Spending time outdoors is an essential part of the day at Malvína. Children go outside daily, in almost any weather, because we consider movement, fresh air, and contact with the surrounding world to be an important part of healthy development.
We use our own gardens, surrounding parks, playgrounds, and the urban environment. Children run, climb, jump, observe nature, care for plants, discover the changing seasons, and learn to function safely outdoors and in public spaces. For older children, outdoor time is often linked with trips, cultural programs, exhibitions, or practical exploration of the city.
12:30 – 13:00
Lunch and hygiene
Lunch is a time of calm, care, and dining together. We guide children toward independence, a healthy relationship with food, trying new flavors, and respecting the individual needs of each child.
Teachers help the children in an age-appropriate way – some already eat completely independently, while others need encouragement, assistance, or more time. It is important to us that dining takes place in a pleasant and safe atmosphere.
13:00 – 13:30
End of morning attendance
During this time, children with morning attendance leave for home. Handing over the child is also an opportunity for us to provide brief feedback to parents. Teachers share how the child did, what they succeeded at, and what might be good to follow up on at home.
Regular communication between the family and the preschool is an important part of childcare for us.
13:00 – 14:45
Rest and sleep
After an active morning comes time for calming down and regeneration. For younger children, sleep is part of the routine, while older children can rest in a calmer form according to their needs, for example with books, quiet activities, or table activities.
We respect the individual needs of children and create an environment where they can feel safe, comfortable, and at peace.
14:45 – 15:15
Afternoon snack and hygiene
The afternoon snack gently brings children back into the more active part of the day. Once again, we support independence, hygienic habits, dining culture, and a pleasant atmosphere during a shared meal.
It is also a space for quiet conversation, sharing experiences, and gradually tuning in to the afternoon program.
15:15 – 16:00
Afternoon clubs and calmer program
During this time, afternoon clubs take place for registered children according to the current offer and schedule. Children can engage in movement, creative, musical, language, or other developmental activities led by teachers or external instructors.
Children who do not attend the clubs continue with a calmer afternoon program. Activities often follow the theme of the week, which runs through the entire day at Malvína. We offer children games, crafting, books, building blocks, sensory activities, or small tasks that help them reinforce new knowledge in a playful and natural way.
Therefore, even free play often has gentle pedagogical guidance. Children choose what they want to get involved in, but teachers prepare a stimulating environment for them, motivate them to explore, and sensitively support their curiosity, cooperation, and independent thinking.
The full-day attendance program ends at 16:00.
16:00 – 18:00
Free play and gradual conclusion of the day
During the extended attendance Plus time, children continue with freer and calmer activities. This time is meant for a pleasant wind-down of the whole day – children can play, create, look through books, talk with friends, or return to activities that interested them the most during the day.
In this part of the day, we also build upon the theme of the week and offer children activities that naturally follow it. Teachers are close to the children, supporting a friendly atmosphere and helping them end the day in peace and comfort.
Our goal is for children to go home happy, balanced, and with the feeling that they spent a beautiful and meaningful day at Malvína.
